about

This is a song I wrote about my friend Floyd. Let me tell you, Floyd is a real character, and he's said and done things that have had me laughing for many years, so I made this song as a tribute to him.

With each line I've tried to reference a story about Floyd, and I think I did a pretty good job of encapsulating the spring and summer of '05 here in this little song.

I hope you like it!

lyrics

He shamrocks beer, and he rocks red thick
He loves the ladies, and his name is Chris
We called him Floyd hoping it would stick
For six years now his mother’s had a fit
Floyd was so endearing, but we liked to tease
Cracking jokes about his love life on the trampoline
Creating code names appropriately deemed
Our pride and joy: T.W.B.

What could we possibly mean
By saying T.W.B.?
Floyd we’re not trying to be mean
To you out on the trampoline
But your guesses are so funny
What could we possibly mean?

We laughed so hard we hit the ground
The trampoline strained, heaving up and down
His face was enraged, yet still perfectly round
Our laughs trumping all, the only audible sound
Preposterous guesses spurting from Floyd’s mouth
Try after try he wasn’t making any ground
He faced defeat as the sun was setting down
Floyd had to go home to take his contacts out

What could we possibly mean
By saying T.W.B.?
Floyd we’re not trying to be mean
To you out on the trampoline
But your guesses are so funny
What could we possibly mean?

When we told him what it meant a frown set upon his face
With sculpted wings he could have flown away
But that pout quickly turned into a smile
And we went to Newt’s basement to play Halo for a while

What could we possibly mean
By saying T.W.B.?
Floyd we’re not trying to be mean
To you out on the trampoline
But your guesses are so funny
What could we possibly mean?
